Margin note — new here? Start with this
Anyone can issue a token on the XRP Ledger — a digital IOU that says 'I owe the holder this much of something': dollars, points, gold grams, anything. Holders opt in by creating a trust line, an on-ledger agreement to hold that issuer's token up to a limit. These tools cover the full lifecycle: trusting, issuing, freezing, and clawing back.
An issued token is like a gift card. The store (issuer) prints it, and it is only worth something because the store promises to honor it. A trust line is you agreeing to accept that store's gift cards — and deciding the maximum value you are comfortable holding.Start here: Set Trust Line
Set Trust Line
Create or modify a trust line so your account can hold an issued token. Locks owner reserve while the line exists.
Freeze Trust Line
Freeze a counterparty's trust line for your issued token so they can only send it back to you (tfSetFreeze). Issuer-only.
Unfreeze Trust Line
Clear a freeze on a counterparty's trust line (tfClearFreeze). Issuer-only.
Issue Token
Issue your token by sending it from your issuing account to a holder with an established trust line.
Clawback Token
Claw back your issued token from a holder. Requires the asfAllowTrustLineClawback flag set on the issuer before any trust lines existed.
Gateway Balances
Total amounts issued by a gateway account, plus balances held in operational (hot wallet) addresses.
