Accept Credential

Accept a credential issued to you, making it valid for use (e.g. in DepositPreauth).

What

Accepts a credential that was issued to your account, switching it from pending to valid.

Why you'd use it

Consent is built in: nobody can hang labels on your account without your signature. Accepting is you saying 'yes, this attestation about me may be used.'

How

Enter the Issuer Address of the credential waiting for you.
Enter the Credential Type exactly as issued (like KYC).
Submit from the subject account and confirm tesSUCCESS — the credential is now valid wherever that issuer is trusted.

Watch out

Accepting moves the credential's 0.2 XRP owner reserve from the issuer to you — you need spendable XRP above your own reserve.
If the credential expired before you accepted, acceptance fails with tecEXPIRED.
Accepting does not endorse the issuer's claim as true — it grants permission for the attestation to be used.

For example

The KYC provider notifies you that your credential is ready. You accept it from your wallet, and minutes later the trading platform that requires that credential lets you in — with your documents never touching the platform.
