Cancel an escrow whose cancel-after time has passed, returning the XRP to the creator.

What

Cancels an expired escrow — one whose cancel time has passed — and returns the locked XRP to whoever created it.

Why you'd use it

The deal fell through, the secret was never revealed, or the recipient never claimed. Cancel is how the sender gets their money back.

How

Confirm the escrow's cancel time has passed (check it via Account Objects).
Enter the Escrow Creator's address and the Escrow Sequence from the original create transaction.
Submit and confirm tesSUCCESS — the XRP returns to the creator (regardless of who submitted the cancel).

Watch out

Cancelling before the cancel time fails with tecNO_PERMISSION and burns the fee.
An escrow created without a cancel time can never be cancelled by anyone, ever.
The refund always goes to the escrow's creator, no matter who submits the cancellation.

For example

A conditional escrow for a swap expired — the counterparty never revealed the secret. The day after the cancel time, the sender cancels and their 300 XRP comes straight back, minus nothing but the tiny fee.
