DEX
Trade on the on-ledger order book: offers, books, auto-bridging.
Margin note — new here? Start with this
The XRP Ledger has a decentralized exchange (DEX) built into the protocol itself — no separate app, no company in the middle. Anyone can place an offer to trade any two assets (XRP or issued tokens), and the ledger matches orders automatically, even bridging through XRP when two tokens have no direct market.
Picture a public bulletin board at a farmers market: 'Trading 100 apples for 50 oranges.' Anyone can pin an offer, anyone can take one, and the market itself (the ledger) makes sure both sides of every swap happen at once — nobody can grab the apples and run.Start here: Order Book
Create DEX Offer
Place an offer on the on-ledger order book to trade between any two assets. Use XRP as the currency code for XRP legs.
Cancel DEX Offer
Cancel one of your open offers by its sequence number (see Account Offers).
Order Book
Retrieve the order book for a trading pair: all open offers, best-priced first.
Auto-Bridge Analysis
Compare the direct order book for a token pair against the two XRP legs (token1/XRP and XRP/token2) to see whether auto-bridging through XRP offers better liquidity.
