Deposit Preauthorization

Preauthorize (or revoke) a specific sender so they can pay you while Deposit Authorization is enabled on your account.

What

Whitelists a specific sender so they can pay you even while your account blocks incoming payments with Deposit Authorization.

Why you'd use it

Accounts that enable Deposit Authorization (a strict compliance setting) reject all incoming payments by default. This tool pokes a hole in that wall for senders you approve.

How

Make sure your account has the asfDepositAuth flag enabled (via Account Settings) — otherwise preauthorizing has no effect.
Enter the sender's address in Authorize Address to allow them.
Or enter an address in Unauthorize Address to revoke earlier approval.
Submit and confirm tesSUCCESS. The sender can now pay you normally.

Watch out

Each preauthorization is a ledger object that locks 0.2 XRP of owner reserve until you revoke it.
Provide either Authorize or Unauthorize — not both in one transaction.
Without Deposit Authorization enabled, this transaction still works but changes nothing about who can pay you.

For example

A fund's treasury account enables Deposit Authorization so random tokens and dust payments cannot land in it. It then preauthorizes exactly three addresses: the exchange it uses and two client accounts.
